Here's yet another recent commission that was based on lighting found in the Handy app on my phone and tablet. I also used a healthy dose of Gil Kane artwork as inspiration.


I had to make up that nose!

  1. hello! just wondering what kind of paper do you use when painting in gouache ..is it hot pressed or smooth pressed?

    1. I've used both. It just depends on what look you're going for. I lean more toward the smooth hot press, but what I use most often now is almost a blend, something called semi-smooth by Strathmore. Also, their Mixed Media Board is great.
